I actually found myself getting a little choked up. Definitely something that will open up a conversation with your family as well. I was never one to read the old bedtime Classics to my daughters for the pure reason that I always found Cinderella to be a story of an abused shut in. This movie finally addresses what I've thought for years. It doesn't hit you over the head with being too preachy, it's just something that a whole family can watch and enjoy. Very G-rated, which is wonderful when looking for a family film (some G movies put on PG clothes in my opinion- this one has no language at all, no skin, and the closest thing to sex is a few kisses. The creativity with the Cinderella theme was good- I didn't read the book- and I felt that the way the abuse issue from the family was handled was appropriate.
